Lettuce progresses

Still waiting for a few super early lettuce to get over being transplanted and start to do their thing. Rapid, lush and leafy growth is all that is expected…

Growing season 2008: It's busy in the field! Thanks for your comments and suggestions, I really enjoy and appreciate them, and read them all just about daily, but when it comes to REPLYING, it may take me a while... :)

My local food

The local portion of what we're currently eating on the farm. Produce is grown here, except as noted. Prepared foods contain mainly local ingredients, not necessarily organic.

In the field: arugula, chives, Jerusalem artichoke, mesclun, spinach

Cold storage: done for a while

Freezer: beef, chicken, tomato sauce, turkey
Meats are purchased, small-farm, more-or-less organic.

Dried: hot peppers

Bottled: jams & jellies, honey, hot pepper sauce, maple syrup, mustard, pickled beets, pickles, relish
All purchased or gifts, small kitchen.
