Tomatoes to the field

Go team… Set out another 400 tomatoes today: add a fistful of compost, bury to topmost leaves, water in. Along with the peppers and eggplant transplanted yesterday, most of the early seedlings are now in. There is still a lot to go, but it’s all coming along…!

My local food

The local portion of what we're currently eating on the farm. Produce is grown here, except as noted. Prepared foods contain mainly local ingredients, not necessarily organic.

In the field: arugula

Cold storage: ~~apples (purchased, not organic), beets, carrots,~~ garlic, ~~onions, potatoes, pumpkins,~~ winter squash

Freezer: beef, chicken, spinach, tomato sauce, turkey
Meats are purchased, small-farm, more-or-less organic.

Dried: hot peppers

Bottled: jams & jellies, honey, hot pepper sauce, maple syrup, mustard, pickled beets, pickles, relish
All purchased or gifts, small kitchen.
