Spuds arrive

A small load of seed potatoes just delivered off a very large truck! 350lbs of Norland, Yukon Gold, Gold Rush, Purple Chief. (The boxes holding the bags are from Holland, not the potatoes.)

My local food

The local portion of what we're currently eating on the farm. Produce is grown here, except as noted. Prepared foods contain mainly local ingredients, not necessarily organic. Fall-Winter 2009:

In the field: -

Cool storage: Garlic (spring-planted), Jerusalem artichoke, onion, potatoes, winter squash

Freezer: Chicken (ours), goat, beef, pork
Meats are purchased, local small-farm, more-or-less organic.

Dried: various herbs

Bottled: jams & jellies, honey, maple syrup
All purchased or gifts; local small kitchen.
