Rock garden

Rocks, rocks, as far as the eye can see. This is how the market garden field looks, before the post-winter work up. Months of snow and rain, have washed the surface rocks clean, so it looks worse than it is. Still, a lotta rocks, pushing up fresh each year.

  1. Your plants are beautiful as always. Do you try to remove the rocks? Or do you just ignore them? We are blessed with rock-free soil down here in Louisiana. If only we had your wonderful cool weather!

  2. I grew up on a farm in central Ontario and couldn’t tell you how many rocks and stones that would appear after every winter. We would get the tractor and wagon out and off to the fieldsd to pick up rocks to put in the fence rows.

It’s amazing how the winter and frost can push so many rocks to the surface.
